Whittlesea Community House is a not-for-profit neighbourhood house in the rural fringe of Melbourne.
We provide a range of activities, groups and courses to reduce social isolation and promote community connection and lifelong learning.
As one of over 400 Neighbourhood Houses in Victoria, we are well-placed to respond quickly to community need.
The 2022 Pop-up Food Relief grant from the Victorian Government has allowed us to host a free fresh food pop-up market, supporting local producers as well as vulnerable community members, and also to produce, our first Hard Times Recipe Book.
We hope you enjoy the range of recipes and hints. Many of the dishes we’ve selected are favourites in our community lunches. Try them and let us know which become your favourites too. Happy cooking!
